Indian Summer - the Regent Street Festival 2007 “An estimated 600,000 visitors
enjoyed an Indian experience in Regent Street during the summer as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations marking Indian independence.
The street was closed to traffic and visitors enjoyed Indian food, drink and music along with Indian head massage and body painting at various stores along the way. 
It was estimated that 20,000 tomatoes, 60,000 onions, 100 kilos of chilli, 100 kilos of spices, 1,000 kilos of cooked rice and 300,00 litres of water, were served by Masala Zone on the day. Masala Zone is the sister
