 | Jan Maddern: “Every day, yoga teachers around the world see many people who do not show the predicted 1 in 4 incidence of osteoporosis commonly found in post-menopausal women. They report seeing little or no incidence of osteoporosis in their regular students. Those who have detected early signs of osteoporosis and who have improved their calcium intake and practised specific bone building postures have reported increased bone
densities. These are, in some cases, closer to those of a 35 year old woman than someone who has reached the age of 55.”
Chris Idzikowski: “When we cannot sleep, physical or, more often, mental discomfort is usually to blame... “One of the best methods for dealing with a lack of sleep caused by worry is to learn ‘thought management’... So how do we prevent ourselves from wishing we could change past situations that still make us feel angry or embarrassed, or from
lying awake, dreading future events?... “One approach is to arm yourself with positive statements that disable the negative ones...” |
